The Facts About Hormone Replacement Therapy and Breast Cancer...
The fear and agony of breast
cancer in mid-life women have been highlighted in books such as The
Sexy Years by Suzanne Somers. They explore the topics of
bio-identical hormones, anti-aging therapies, and supplements, but,
there is more to preventing breast cancer than popping pills and
getting a mammogram every twelve months.
New
research is leading to a better understanding of how to avoid breast
cancer in the first place.
Innovative diagnostic tools are available to help physicians spot
changes in the breasts long before they have a chance to become
cancerous. Natural hormone replacement along with lifestyle modifications including better food choices,
aerobic exercise, and stress relieving therapies are providing positive
results in dramatically reducing breast cancer risks.
All of this and more is
examined in the new book Avoiding Breast Cancer While Balancing Your
Hormones by Dr. Joseph McWherter.
In his book Dr. McWherter
explains:
-
What causes the symptoms
of menopause (weight gain, headaches, hot flashes, insomnia, fuzzy
memory, fatigue, etc.) and how bio-identical hormone therapy can
alleviate those symptoms without increasing breast cancer risks.
-
The many misconceptions
held by both women and doctors about the Women's Health Initiative
Study on estrogen replacement.
-
The different types of
estrogen and their metabolites and why you should be more concerned
with the estrogen your body makes, than the estrogen you take.
-
How the body’s internal
systems interact to increase or decrease your
chances of getting breast cancer.
-
Why detoxification is so
important in hormone balancing.
-
How thermography can
reveal abnormalities years before they show up on a mammogram.
-
The key nutritional
components you need in your diet to minimize your breast cancer
risk.
-
The vital role iodine plays
in breast health.
-
How your everyday
environment contributes to breast cancer risks.
-
How exercise, stress
reduction, and nutrition optimize hormone balancing.
But, most importantly, he
provides you with a unified, comprehensive program for improving your
health and lifestyle so you can feel better, look better, and live
longer.
If you aren’t concerned about breast
cancer because
it “doesn’t
run in my family,” consider this —
80 to 85 percent of new breast
cancers occur
in women without a family history of breast cancer.
